Past Perfect — Past Before Past

English sayshad done,had seen, orhad arrivedwhen one completed event was already finished before another point in the past. Spanish builds the same time relationship with a past form of the helping verb plus a past participle.

Meaning:completed before another past reference point. This module does not add a new pronunciation or spelling rule; it retrieves the sound, stress, and spelling rules you already know.

Do not confuse the jobs:the ordinary simple past reports a completed past event. The past-before-past form explicitly places one completed event earlier than another past reference point.
