You Finish and You Return

Use termina for polite “you finish” and regresa for polite “you return.” Combine these forms with familiar words and helper verbs from earlier modules.

You finish: termina

Use termina when politely saying that one person finishes something. Use terminar after familiar helper forms.

Spanish often leaves out usted. Here, termina by itself can mean polite you finish.

Build the meaning step by step

Termina ahora. = You finish now.
No termina hoy. = You do not finish today.
¿Qué termina? = What do you finish?
Use terminar after helper verbs
Quiere terminar ahora.
Puede terminar el documento.
Necesita terminar el trabajo.
