Meaning first

This module adds no new Spanish. You now select and connect patterns you have already learned to express a view, support it, recommend an action, or show uncertainty.

What you are learning

Connected reasoning is more than one correct sentence: your opinion, reason, recommendation, and level of certainty must fit the relationship you intend.

English comparison

Lesson 1 — Opinion + Reasons

I can give an opinion and support it with several connected reasons.

I think it is possible.

Creo que es importante porque es posible.

I think it is important because it is possible.

Estoy de acuerdo.

I agree.

No estoy de acuerdo. Sin embargo, es posible.

I disagree. However, it is possible.

Lesson 2 — Recommendation + Reason

I can make a recommendation and explain why.

Deberías estudiar.

You should study.

Es mejor estudiar.

It is better to study.

Te recomiendo estudiar.

I recommend that you study.

Recomiendo que hables.

I recommend that you speak.

Comparison focus:when a recommendation points toward another subject, Recall the already learnedque + subjunctiverelationship rather than forcing the infinitive pattern everywhere.

Lesson 3 — Possibility & Hypothesis

I can discuss a possibility, uncertainty, or hypothetical outcome.

Tal vez es posible.

Maybe it is possible.

No creo que sea posible.

I do not think it is possible.

Si tengo tiempo, voy.

If I have time, I go / will go.

Si tuviera tiempo, iría.

If I had time, I would go.

Meaning choice:a statement presented as true, doubt or nonbelief, real/open condition, and hypothetical outcome are different relationships. Choose the pattern from the intended meaning—not from a memorized trigger list.
